WHAT WE TEACH
Any pet that is in pain or is going to be moved into pain, can and will bite™
Learning how to muzzle and restrain your pet will not only keep you safe but keep your pet from risking further injury.
There is no 9-1-1 for your pets™
Ambulance response does not exist for our pets. In an emergency situation the actions taken to care for our pets will depend on our own knowledge and skill. Being well-trained and prepared will allow you to clearly assess the situation and act. Once you have applied the necessary life-saving techniques you will be ready to safely transport your beloved pet to the veterinarian and give him/her the best chance of survival.
"Doggy, Doggy, Are you OK?"™
Is your pet not breathing? in cardiac arrest? or just in a really deep sleep? Learn how to assess the acuity of your pets condition and the tools you need to respond in a safe and quick manner.
Snout-to-Tail™ Assessment
A systematic and regular assessment of your pet not only builds a trusting bond between you and your pet but also establishes a baseline to know what is normal and when things have changed. Learn how to perform this important hands-on technique consistently and regularly. Your pet will thank you for already being used to your hands on thier body when things go awry.
Caring for your Senior Petizen™
Old age is a condition, not a disease. Like humans, every pet ages according to their baseline health in addition to breed and size. Learn how to care for your elder pet and differentiate between the normal aging process and the onset of sickness and disease. Advocate for your loving companion by having the tools to make the best decisions and knowing when to make the really hard ones.
Dental Care and Periodontal Disease
Dental decay and gum disease can be often overlooked but remain an important component of pet care. Did you know gum disease can cause infection or lead to premature heart conditions? Has your pet lost it's appetite? It could be from pain, inflammation, or decay of their oral health. Learn how to brush your pets teeth, techniques to start a healthy oral hygeine, and how to get your pet to trust you enough to put your hands in that high-risk cavity. Even if you haven't been aware of the importance of oral health in the past and you think your pet will never let you near them now- it's never too late to start.
Building a First-aid and Emergency Preparedness Kit
What emergencies are you prepared for in your area? Do you have a kit and a plan in place for a pet emergency? Do you know what you will need? What if something happens to you? Will someone know how to care for your pet they way you would want them to be cared for? Learn how to put an emergency kit together with the necessities of what your pet will need should they need care in and outside of your presence.
